Intro

I felt a bit self-concious (for a few seconds) about calling this blog Guitar Wizard, as I know absolutely nothing about Wizards and would certainly not want to upset one by claiming to be one, but I do know a fair bit about the Guitar and how to teach and play it. I am sure I was born a musician and I have been lucky enough to be able to pursue this path exclusively. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in not only playing but finding better ways of explaining the underlying issues that surround the guitar and in particular the art of improvising in general. This blog will introduce some of my ideas and techniques (and yours hopefully) that came from 18 years as the head of jazz guitar at a university, private students and the numerous musicians I have been lucky enough to share the stage with.
